When It comes to building a successful website based business, there are so many elements that need to be in place. One thing you must undestand is that the most important element is not the design of someones website.

It is common in online marketing for people to spend too much time and energy trying to create the “perfect” website. In truth, no such thing exists and even if it did why would you spend all your time trying to create this perfect site.

I have seen many incredibly successful websites that I thought were truly awful, but facts are facts. If a website is making good money, success speaks for itself and whether the site appears to be ‘pretty’ or technologically perfect is irrelevant.

If you have a website with which you are trying to make money, the site can be constructed or designed in any way you like, and as long
you can send a sufficient number of visitors to it, you will make some money.

From this, something else should become immediately apparent. Your first task when you decide that you want to make money online should be to master the art of driving traffic to your website.

There are many ways that you can send visitors to your website, but one of the most effective ways of generating traffic for free is by ‘encouraging’ the major search engines like Google to send visitors to your site. In order to do this, you need your site to be attractive to the search engines (search engine friendly, in other words), which means that you have to understand the concept of search engine optimization (SEO).

This is not as complicated and difficult as it might at first appear, and I have decided to put together a book that will cover one particular aspect of SEO, which is the importance of links.
